Tanya Burr Book

love-tanya-packshot-1Tanya Burr is someone I definitely look up too, I just think she is mesmerising. For someone who is famous and has such a big audience I admire her for staying so humble and real. I really love her youtube channel and especially enjoy watching her vlogs, I love christmas time when she does vlogmas! This book was such a lovely read it tells you all about her life, and has different sections such as make up, fashion, baking which I also enjoy so this book was right up my street. I would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of her too! I loved the confidence section as this is one reason I admire Tanya, as she is constantly promoting body confidence and talking about how beauty come in all shapes and sizes which is so true and for someone in the public eye making that statement really does make a difference, so thank you Tanya Burr!

Let me know if you have read this book!

Disney World Orlando

October 2016 we went to Florida for my 21st Birthday and of course it was magical. I think you can go to Disney world whatever age you are and still feel that excited feeling in your tummy, I love when you walk in you’re faced with the castle and that in itself is just breathtaking.

We stayed at Saratoga Springs on Disney itself and we had a treehouse which was a completely different experience but nether the less an extremely pleasant one. There was six of us all together we went to all the parks and I have to say Magic Kindgom always come first, it just has such a lovely atmosphere and its were you see most of the characters, even though there are not many thrill rides here I still enjoy going on the little rides.

We all went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure which are more aimed at our age range. I really love all the rides as they have more thrill rides such as the Hulk rollercoaster which is one of my favourites and of course its home to Harry Potter World!! I have been to Hogsmeade before but this time we got to go to Diagon Alley and oh wow it was just so exciting it felt so real! It was lovely to walk around all the shops such as Olivanders, the Joke shop and go into Gringotts bank.

I would go back to Orlando in a heartbeat I just absolutely love it there and really don’t have a bad word to say about it! We all had so much fun and it made my 21st birthday one to remember!

If your going to Disney let me know!

I have recently returned from New York it was my first time to this beautiful city and words just can’t describe how much I loved it! We booked to go to New York for Ciarans 21st birthday (hes my boyfriend you’ll hear me mention his name a lot) so on the 12th January we headed to Heathrow and flew to New York for a week away together and we were both so excited!
When we arrived in New York we couldn’t wait to get to the hotel, drop off our bags and head to Times Square, our hotel was right next to it on 47th street. We stayed at the Edison which was a smaller hotel than some of them, however it was lovely and a great location if you don’t mind being in the hustle and bustle, as it can be a bit noisy.
Im not going to write about everything we did because quite frankly I would be here all night as there is just so much to talk about, but I’m going to tell you about a few of our favourite things we did –
The Top of the Rock views were breathtaking, this was one of our favourite places throughout the whole trip. You can go to the top day or night, we chose the daytime and it was just wonderful you could see all over Manhattan.
Central Park was beautiful even in the winter, we were so lucky that it snowed when we were there, it made it looked even more magical than I thought it already was. I would recommend the horse and carriage ride, the tour guide tells you lots of information which you wouldn’t know from just walking around. Also it was nice to sit down and take in the views, also I found it quite a romantic sightseeing experience.
The Empire State building at night time was the perfect view of the beautiful city lit up. We went to the 102nd floor which is so overwhelming but honestly you have to go up there. | would really recommend doing one of the Empire State and Top of the Rock at night and one in the day then you get the best of both worlds.
9/11 Memorial was a very emotional place, the fountains are huge and give you a real sense of just how big those buildings were. It was lovely to see that they had built something in memory of the buildings and the people who had lost their lives, however words cant describe how you feel when you’re reading the names engraved. Your heart is filled with sadness and pride all at the same time, the same emotion comes over you when you are visiting the museum which is full of stories from survivors, personal belongings and objects from the day.
The statue of Liberty we saw from the cruise around Manhattan which I would recommend to do as you see so much more than just the statue, however as you can imagine in January it was freezing, this was a 2.5 hours trip which we really enjoyed.
So heres my checklist for things you HAVE to do New York –
  • Top of the Rock
  • Empire State building
  • 9/11 memorial
  • Statue of liberty
  • Central Park
  • Broadway
  • Times Square
I really hope you enjoyed my first ever blog post!
